Saint Brigid School Athletics

Saint Brigid offers the following sports: basketball, soccer and introducing golf. Students from grades four through eight are invited to participate in these sports.

Golf

St. Brigid School is now offering golf classes year round through an organization called TGA Premier Junior Golf. The classes will be offered Fall, Winter and Spring starting on Monday September 26, 2011. The classes are an hour long, and are held right after school and will occur once a week for 6 weeks at a time. The classes will be held on school grounds (outside or in the gym) and will run from 2:30pm to 3:30pm. TGA also provides all of the equipment so students just need to show up to golf class after school.

Basketball

Basketball has been around since the school opened its doors more than 45 years ago. Championship banners grace our gymnasium walls with pride. Saint Brigid is a member of the Hartford Archdiocesan Basketball League. Official league games are played with Connecticut Deanery with an additional schedule of unofficial league games played in the New Britain Deanery. All students who sign up will be on the team. Saint Brigid has a no cut policy. Grade 4 boys and girls are on an instructional team, which is basic skills and knowledge of the game. Schools throughout the Archdiocese play with the same rules and allow the players to develop their skills, sportsmanship, and team spirit.
